Glassdoor stopped being a separate company on July 1, 2026, when it was merged into Indeed, Inc., as Reworked reported. That leaves two giants holding most US SEO listings, and three smaller boards where the roles are easier to compare.
SEO job boards compared
| Board | Live US SEO listings | Free to post | Paid posting | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LinkedIn Jobs | 5,000+ | One open post at a time | Pay per view, daily or total budget | Mid-level and senior SEO roles |
| Indeed (with Glassdoor) | About 7,000 | Many jobs | Sponsored, pay per interaction | The widest range of SEO jobs |
| SEOjobs.com | About 1,360 in its archive | One salary-listed post every 6 months | $99 to $179 per post | SEO-only roles with salary ranges |
| Built In | Hundreds in its SEO category | No | Quote | SEO roles at tech companies |

#1 LinkedIn Jobs

LinkedIn is where most US companies hire mid-level and senior SEO people, because the job post sits next to the candidate's work history. A logged-out search for "SEO" in the United States showed more than 5,000 jobs on October 15, 2026. More than 4,000 of them were posted in the previous 30 days. LinkedIn rounds these counts, so read them as a floor.
For job seekers, the advantage is context. You can see who posted the role, who already works on the team, and whether a past colleague can refer you. LinkedIn says its job matching draws on more than 1 billion members.
For employers, the pricing page allows one free job post open at a time. A promoted post runs on a daily or total budget, and you pay each time a member views the job. LinkedIn's own example is a $10 daily budget over 30 days, which costs $300 or less.
- Best for: mid-level, senior and in-house SEO roles at established US companies.
- Where it falls short: logged-out counts are rounded, and the remote filter does not work until you sign in.
- Employer cost: one free post at a time; promoted posts pay per view.
#2 Indeed

Indeed casts the widest net. It has the most SEO listings of any US board: its search for "SEO" in the United States showed about 7,000 jobs on October 15, 2026. It pulls in roles that never reach LinkedIn, from agency SEO specialists to part-time contract work. One of the top results paid $50 an hour for a remote, part-time SEO analyst.
Indeed belongs to Recruit Holdings, which also owns Glassdoor. Glassdoor's company reviews and salary data now sit behind an Indeed account, and new Glassdoor users have signed in with Indeed since November 2025. Indeed's about page lists 685 million job seeker profiles and more than 3.5 million employers.

On the employer side, Indeed's pricing page lets you post many jobs free, though some listings are sponsored only. Sponsored Jobs come in Standard, Premium and Premium Plus tiers, with no fixed price. You pay for interactions such as clicks or started applications, billed on the 1st of each month or when spend reaches $500.
- Best for: the widest range of SEO jobs, including agency, part-time and entry-level roles.
- Where it falls short: a broad keyword pulls in roles where SEO is one skill among many, such as web developers.
- Employer cost: free posting for many jobs; Sponsored Jobs bill per interaction.
#3 SEOjobs.com

SEOjobs.com is the only active job board built for SEO alone, and its filters show it. Every listing is an SEO or AI search role, so there are no developer or general marketing jobs to scroll past. You can narrow roles to technical SEO, GEO and AI search, content, or local SEO, then filter by experience and by whether a salary is listed. Its job list showed 1,362 listings on October 15, 2026, including some that have expired, with 240 remote and 217 showing a salary.
The board is owned and run by Nick LeRoy, according to its about page. It also covers Canada, the UK, the EU and India, so filter to the USA or remote.
Each year it publishes a report on the SEO job market. The 2025 State of SEO Jobs Report, based on about 10,000 roles from 2024, found that the median salary fell from $90,000 in the first quarter to $75,000 in the fourth.

For employers, the posting page lists four packages: a free 21-day post with a salary range, once every six months; Quick Post at $99 for 30 days; Standard at $139 for 45 days; and Premium at $179 for 60 days. Premium also places the role on the homepage and in the weekly email, which goes to 3,497 subscribers. The site counted more than 200,000 visitors in 2025.
An employer hiring one SEO specialist could pay $99 on SEOjobs.com for 30 days, or about $300 on LinkedIn at its own example of $10 a day for 30 days. The free SEOjobs.com post costs nothing but needs a salary range and runs for 21 days.
- Best for: SEO specialists, technical SEOs and SEO managers who want listings with no unrelated marketing roles.
- Where it falls short: a smaller pool than the big boards, and the archive count includes expired roles.
- Employer cost: free with a salary range, or $99 to $179 per post.
#4 Built In

Built In lists jobs at tech companies and startups, and that focus makes it useful for SEO roles in software and SaaS. Those roles often pair SEO with product marketing, content strategy or analytics, and they tend to pay more than agency roles. Its remote SEO marketing jobs page shows each role's salary band, seniority and work arrangement up front. Searching the broad keyword "SEO" pulls in many unrelated tech jobs, so browse the SEO category instead.
Built In says it reaches more than 5 million users a month and that 65% of them are at mid-senior level, on its employer page. It also publishes city hubs, such as Built In NYC and Built In Austin, for local tech roles.
Employers buy job slots through Built In's sales team. The page lists a Job Post plan, a free ATS integration and a Premium Partnership, but no prices.
- Best for: SEO and content roles at US software companies and venture-backed startups.
- Where it falls short: no published price for employers, and keyword searches return many non-SEO jobs.
- Employer cost: job slots by quote.
#5 Wellfound

Wellfound, formerly AngelList Talent, is the startup job board, and its listings show pay up front. Its SEO manager jobs in New York page showed 39 roles on October 15, 2026, and the top listing paid $120,000 to $150,000. You can see a startup's stage, size and funding before you apply.
The platform spun out of AngelList in November 2022, when 8 million candidates and 150,000 startups had used it, according to Wellfound's about page. SEO roles there tend to cover more than search: many combine SEO with content, growth or AI search. Expect to be the first or only SEO hire, with room to set the strategy and less support than at a large company.
For startups hiring, Wellfound's pricing page lets you post jobs free. Paid Job Ads start at $200. Autopilot, where Wellfound runs the search for you, costs $500 a month per open role plus a 10% placement fee.

- Best for: SEO and growth roles at early-stage startups, often with equity.
- Where it falls short: fewer SEO roles than the big boards, mostly in tech hubs.
- Employer cost: free posts; Job Ads from $200; Autopilot $500 a month per role.
Other SEO job boards to check
A few more boards carry SEO roles, though they did not make the top five. Dice showed 342 SEO results in the United States, mostly where SEO meets web development. We Work Remotely lists fully remote roles worldwide and charges $299 for a post, but it had only one SEO listing on October 15, 2026.
If you want freelance SEO work instead of a salaried job, see our guides to getting SEO projects and freelance SEO consultant work. Before you negotiate an offer, check SEO manager salaries and the highest-paying countries for SEOs. Employers can compare websites to hire an SEO freelancer.
Hire a vetted SEO specialist without posting a job
Job boards bring applicants, then the screening is yours. Seotal sends pre-vetted freelance SEO specialists who have passed an SEO test and a live interview, so US teams skip the posting and the shortlist. See how hiring works, check pricing or tell us the role.
