Meta's ad tools say Facebook reaches 122.1% of Filipino adults, a figure DataReportal republishes as reported while warning that rates above 100% look implausible. The government's own count is far lower. The 2024 National ICT Household Survey found 67.3% of Filipinos aged 10 and over used the internet.
How many people use the internet in the Philippines?
The Philippines added only 789,000 internet users between October 2024 and October 2025, growth of 0.8%. DataReportal's Digital 2026: The Philippines puts the total at 98.0 million, based on Kepios analysis. That leaves 19.0 million people, or 16.2% of the population, offline.
The slowdown follows a steep climb. Kepios counts 47.8 million users in October 2019 and 75.8 million two years later.

The Philippine Statistics Authority runs a household survey instead. Its 2024 National ICT Household Survey, run with the DICT across about 44,000 households, found 61.46 million internet users aged 10 and over. Only 48.8% of households had internet at home.

The government survey asks the question another way. The PSA found internet users aged 10 and over spent an average of 4.6 hours online a day in 2024, and 76.9% went online daily.
Social media time depends on the definition. GWI's media breakdown gives 13 hours 2 minutes a week for social media. Its social media overview, which includes video on social platforms, gives 33 hours 50 minutes.
How do Filipinos get online?
Phones come first: 97.8% of Filipino internet users aged 16+ go online with a mobile phone, and 95.7% with a smartphone, in GWI's survey. Laptops and desktops reach 62.7%, connected TVs 35.2% and tablets 25.8%. The PSA survey found 98.8% of internet users aged 10 and over used a cell phone.
GSMA Intelligence counts 137 million cellular mobile connections in the Philippines at the end of 2025, equal to 117% of the population and up 3.0% in a year. It classes 89.0% of them as broadband (3G, 4G or 5G). DataReportal cautions that a broadband connection is not proof of mobile internet use, since some plans cover only voice and SMS.

Mobile networks are closing the gap on downloads, not uploads. Ookla's median mobile download speed reached 59.64 Mbps in the three months to August 2025, up 77.2% in a year. Fixed connections rose 11.4% to 105.17 Mbps. Uploads show the bigger split: 8.58 Mbps on mobile against 99.77 Mbps on wifi and ethernet.

How many Filipinos use ChatGPT and other AI tools?
ChatGPT.com was the fourth most visited website in the Philippines from June to August 2025, with 157 million monthly visits in Similarweb's ranking. Only google.com, facebook.com and youtube.com drew more. "Chatgpt" was also the 12th biggest Google search from July 2024 to June 2025.

AI investment is small by comparison. The e-Conomy SEA 2025 Philippines report from Google, Temasek and Bain counts $30 million of private AI funding from H2 2024 to H1 2025, 1% of the ASEAN total. Apps with marketed AI features grew revenue 79% in H1 2025.

Facebook ads reach 95.8 million users in the Philippines, 97.7% of the country's internet users. Messenger reaches 65.8 million, TikTok 64.0 million adults and YouTube 59.6 million. These counts come from each platform's ad tools, as compiled by DataReportal, and they measure ad audiences, not monthly active users.

GWI's survey backs the ranking. In the past month, 94.9% of internet users aged 16+ used Facebook, 90.6% Messenger, 85.0% YouTube, 82.2% TikTok and 71.2% Instagram.

Instagram grew its Philippine ad reach by 24.6% in a year, to 26.9 million, the fastest among the five largest ad audiences. LinkedIn grew 15.8% and Facebook 10.3%. X lost 22.7% and Snapchat 24.6%.

Attention sits with two apps. Similarweb's Android data for August 2025 shows active users spending 1 hour 31 minutes a day on Facebook and 1 hour 30 minutes on TikTok. In GWI's survey, 36.2% of social media users named Facebook their favourite platform and 21.6% named TikTok. GWI did not offer YouTube as an answer.

The Philippine performance marketer page lists monthly pay bands for paid media hires.
